Giveaway – Under the Elms

I’m so excited about today’s fun giveaway!  You will love Under the Elms, a beautiful shop full of whimsical felt hair accessories.  I really love the use of vintage millinery items sprinkled throughout as well.  The lucky winner will receive this headband in the size of their choosing!

Merriment – Workshop Photo Shoot

Several times a year I give a beginners DSLR workshops to teach people how to really use their wonderful cameras.  The last part of the workshop is a styled photo shoot and it’s always so much fun!  It’s so amazing to see people “get” it – people who used to be totally intimidated by their cameras.  This family of adorable sisters modeled for us last time.  I just looooove photographing them!  They are so natural in front of the camera, and fun and affectionate with each other.  I’m always looking for models, so if any of my local readers would be interested in having their children participate in return for complimentary photos, please email me and I’ll send you an application.  I’m generally looking for kids between the ages of 3 and 10.

I used the 85mm for this shoot. It’s my favorite lens, but the 50mm would’ve worked great as well!

Giveaway – Elk Dresses

This is my daughter’s 3 year old birthday photo shoot featuring an adorable skirt and leggings set from Elk Dresses (one of the best places to find stylish customizable handmade creations for your little one)!  I had such a great time spending this beautiful spring evening with my sweet girl.  The birds were singing, the sun was beaming, and we just had a ton of fun together.  When I was done taking her pictures, she photographed me with her Fisher-Price digital camera.  She got a kick out of directing me…  “Walk over there – Don’t touch the sticks – Go closer to the trees”.  Basically all the same stuff I said to her during the shoot!

Little Man – 1 Year Session

It’s been so great to see this little guy grow up during his first year.  Through my Baby’s First Year program I got to photograph him ever since he was a tiny premie…  And now he’s such a little man!  He was too funny with his cake smash.  That thing was seriously reduced to a pile of complete mush in about five seconds!

Where the Heart Is – Personal

I’ve had so much fun working on my home decor with my fabulous friend Kristin Alber of FOUND and Domestic Bliss in Mesa.  Her stores are simply gorgeous and she also does in-home decorating.  She has an accessorizing service where she comes into your home and uses your own pieces, as well as items from her stores and brings it all together with her professional expertise!   I had most of the major decorating done, but she really helped fill it out and make it feel so homey and inviting.  I love the cheerful look!
